UNDER THis ROOF @ THE LYRIC - PHOTO PORTRAITS
On Sunday 12th July I’ll be offering a photo portrait session at the stunningly beautiful Lyric Theatre in Bridport.
Please come along to support The Lyric’s “Under This Roof” appeal to carry out urgent repairs to the roof of this unique historic building and allow it to continue as a hub of creativity in Bridport.
In recent years I’ve used The Lyric as the backdrop to several beautiful portraits of local people, including the very special photo below of the Lyric team as they emerged from lockdown in 2020, and others at the end of this page.
I may not give you the moody edginess of having stepped out of David Bailey’s studio, or sprinkle you with the model-like magic of the late great Peter Lindbergh, but I usually have the knack of nailing beautiful and powerful portraits in this equally beautiful space. You may not want your own portrait hanging on your wall, but there’s usually someone out there who would love just that. A perfect gift for a parent, grandparent, lover, or fan - of you or of The Lyric!

SO HOW DOES IT WORK?
• The sessions on Sunday 12th July 2026 will be open from 11am until 3pm and will run on a first come first served basis.
• You are very welcome to bring friends, family, dogs, props, or any other items close to your heart.
• I’m doing this to help The Lyric reach the target of their Crowdfunded to urgently repair their roof. The photos will be a thank you to anyone making a donation on the day.
• We’d like to suggest a minimum donation of £20. In return you will receive an emailed copy of at least one portrait.
• If your donation is £40 or more, you will also receive a A4 print of one portrait on beautiful Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl paper. *
• If your donation is £60 or more, you will also receive a A3 print of one portrait on beautiful Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl paper. *
